Regarding a cooperative road project with Breezy Point, Jenkins Township and Ideal Township, the council on a split vote declined to enter an agreement with Bolton & Menk to conduct phase one engineering for a cooperative road project request for proposals. The Breezy Point City Council approved the request, and Jenkins and Ideal townships were to consider it this week.
Council member Scott Pederson reiterates 2021 is not the year to raise taxes because of COVID-19 ramifications on businesses and residents. He casts sole "no" vote against adopting budgets and levies, which passes on 3-1 vote.
Pequot Lakes will accept applications through Sunday, Dec. 20, to fill a vacant seat on the city council, and the new council and mayor taking over in 2021 will make the appointment.
