Earth Day 2021 is on Thursday, April 22, and there’s no end to the ways you can celebrate and pitch in, whether you want to get your hands dirty and pick up trash around the neighborhood, or just take some time to get educated about climate change or sustainable living.

One easy way to get in the eco-friendly spirit? Watch one of these new, educational (and entertaining) TV specials about our planet. Dive deep into the mysterious world of whales, or find out what celebrities like Matt Damon and Jane Fonda are doing to keep the world green and healthy.

Here are five new TV specials to check out for Earth Day 2021:

Secrets of the Whales (Disney Plus) — This four part National Geographic documentary narrated by Sigourney Weaver explores the secret world of whales, and how they communicate. National Geographic explorer Brian Skerry goes underwater with orcas, belugas and more.

Our America: Climate of Hope (Hulu)-- Episode 3 of ABC’s “Our America” series features trusted meteorologists from ABC stations across America and focuses on the impacts of extreme weather, and how to solve the climate crisis.

Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World (PBS) — Premiering April 22 on PBS, this three-part documentary follows the young activist on the front lines of the battle against climate change.

Cher & The Loneliest Elephant (Paramount+) — The “world’s loneliest elephant,” Kaavan, was languishing alone in a Pakistani zoo when Cher intervened, and became involved with a relocation effort to bring the animal to a Cambodian rescue sanctuary.

Action Planet (Discovery+) — Join “high-profile changemakers,” from political figures like Kamala Harris to celebrities like Matt Damon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and learn about their work to fight climate change.

Bonus: Earth Day Eve Virtual Concert (NatGeo) — On Wednesday, April 21, head to National Geographic’s YouTube channel for an inspirational concert with performances by Willie Nelson, Ziggy Marley, Yo-Yo Ma and more. Can’t catch it live? The whole concert will be available the next day on Disney+.
