Public Notice: Express Route conversion to Dial-a-Ride
beginning May 1, 2020
The Express Route has been a pilot program for many years. It is a deviated fixed route that runs scheduled stops between specific locations throughout Brainerd and Baxter. It operates between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. It has been heavily promoted, but never developed a rider base that could support it financially.
At the regular meeting dated March 16, 2020, the Brainerd City Council agreed to discontinue the Express route service due to lack of ridership and high costs. The service hours will be converted entirely to curb-to-curb Dial-a-Ride service.
This change will be effective on May 1, 2020.
