Brainerd Public School ISD # 181, Brainerd, Minnesota, will receive sealed bids for Lowell Elementary Addition and Remodel project, until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19th, 2019. Bids will be received by the Superintendent of Schools - Mrs. Laine Larson, Brainerd Public Schools ISD # 181 District Office, 804 Oak Street, Brainerd, MN 56401. There is no agent for the receipt of bids other than the Superintendent of Schools. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the time and place specified herein.
All bidders shall meet the requirements as defined under the Responsible Contractor Law, Statutes Section 16C.285. A signed statement, under oath, verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria shall be included with the bid submission.
Bid Packages will consist of: Earthwork/Improvements/Utilities, Concrete, Precast Concrete, General Construction, Roofing, Aluminum Entrances/Aluminum Windows & Glazing, Flooring, Acoustical Ceilings, Food Service Equipment, Fire Protection, Plumbing, and Heating/Ventilation & Air Conditioning as defined in Scope of Work Section 00 13 00 in the Project Manual.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Monday, December 9th, 2019 @ 3:30 pm at: Lowell Elementary; 704 3rd Ave N., Brainerd, MN 56401. Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.
Bids shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the specifications, at the date and time specified. The complete bid form shall be submitted without alterations, additions or erasures. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked "Bid Enclosed, Lowell Elementary Addition & Remodel" with the name and address of the bidder, and the date and hour of the opening. Lump sum bids for this work are solicited from contractors specializing in, or highly experienced in this work.
For Electronic access to the bidding documents, please contact the Construction Manager at mark.needham@ics-consult.com. The Construction Manager can also provide locations of Builders Exchange's holding plans for contractors to access. Bidders are responsible for all costs associated with the production of plans and specifications for their use.
Each bid of $10,000 or greater shall be accompanied by a bid bond, or certified or cashier's check in the amount of at least five (5%) percent of the bid amount made payable to Brainerd Public Schools - ISD #181 as bid security that, if the bid is accepted, the contractor will execute the contract and file the required performance and payment bonds within the allotted time period after notice of award of contract.
The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts of bids and waive any formalities or irregularities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening without consent of the Board of Education.
