Voting Summary: Yea: 6, Nay: 0 Visitor Comments – No visitor comments Motion made by Kassandra Nelson and Seconded by Brian Grimsley to consider the consent agent with the following items: Minutes of the March 21st school board meeting Monthly cash flow including investments Monthly bills paid #86263 through #86414 and the electronic transfers Monthly bills paid -Activity accounts #4233 through #4254 Donations- Pillager Husky Club -$1000 to the Musical; Pillager Community Ed -$1100 for swimming lessons Personnel summary sheet includes: Hires- Laura Wachsmuth - Middle school SPED teacher, Effective 8/29/22 Resignations: David Peterson - Girls basketball Head Coach, Effective 3/21/22 Leave Request: Elisa Ingberg- Kindergarden teacher, Effective 8/29/22 Motion Carried. Voting Summary: Yea: 6, Nay: 0 Facilities Committee: Construction Project Financial Update discussed. Motion made by Brian Grimsley and Seconded by Kassandra Nelson to except the bid from the Anderson Brothers for the sports complex project. Motion Carried. Voting Summary: Yea: 6, Nay: 0 The Curriculum Committee: Met on April 5th, 2022. The 2022 District Dashboard Data and the 2022-23 curriculum requests/recommendations were discussed at the meeting. Director of Teaching and Learning Ryan Krominga discussed highlights from MCA’s, goals and curriculum changes that will be made according to grade levels. Update on summer school also given. Mr. Malmberg thanked the local businesses for their donations that were used as incentives during MCA testing. Matt Moen spoke about implementing a Husky leadership council. This would involve older kids and team captains helping out with the younger kids; showing Husky pride and being positive role models. The Activities Committee: Met on April 12th 2022. The winter activities summary; Spring update; Coaching update; Schedule C updates; Activities handbook update; Community Ed offering update; Community Ed advisory meeting update; Leadership council and Admission prices for the 2022-23 school year were all discussed. Motion to accept the new contract C positions was made by Randy Posner and seconded by Sara Nagel, Carried. Voting Summary: Yea: 6, Nay: 0 Discussion: Randy Posner spoke about adding positions for qualified theater, sports and team coaches. Motion to increase the cost of admission fees. Voting Summary: Yea: 6, Nay: 0 Budget: Business manager Missy Berry notified the board that the busing quotes ads are in the paper and she is also working on getting quotes for the copiers. The plan for the overage in funds in the food service account had been submitted to MDE. She is also in the process of getting our DocuWare program started. Superintendent Mike Malmbergs Report: Construction project update and cost. We are currently short $143,000 in the budget; that is 1% over budget. So overall, we are doing well. Educators of excellence banquet by Region 5 and Sourcewell is coming up. Stacy Germundson, Kellie Klimek, Wendy Hall, Lindsay Solheim, Andrew Peterson and Erik Uselman will be recognized at the event. The staff and students of Beauty and the Beast were recognized for their performance and hard work. Arbor day sale on April 29th, Elementary music program on April 28th, the state Speech Competition is on April 23rd, Prom is on April 30th.
