Brainerd Public School ISD # 181, Brainerd, Minnesota, will receive sealed bids for Garfield Elementary School Additions and Renovations Project, until 2:00 PM, Tuesday December 10th, 2019. Bids will be received by the Superintendent of Schools - Mrs. Laine Larson, Brainerd Public Schools ISD # 181 District Office, 804 Oak Street, Brainerd, MN 56401. There is no agent for the receipt of bids other than the Superintendent of Schools. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the time and place specified herein.
All bidders shall meet the requirements as defined under the Responsible Contractor Law, Statutes Section 16C.285. A signed statement, under oath, verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria shall be included with the bid submission.
This is a multiple prime bid project that will consist of: Earthwork/Improvements/Utilities, Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel Supply, Structural Steel Install, Gyp Board Assemblies, General Construction, Casework, Roofing, Aluminum Entrances/Aluminum Windows & Glazing, Flooring, Tile, Flooring, Painting, Ceilings, Food Service Equipment, Fire Protection, Mechanical, and Electrical.
A pre-bid conference will be held 2nd of December 2019, 3:00 PM at Garfield Elementary School, 1120 10th Ave NE, Brainerd, MN 56401. If bidders want to visit the physical site, a site review will take place immediately following the pre-bid conference at Garfield Elementary. No extras will be allowed because of the bidder's misinterpretation to the amount of work involved, bidder's own error, negligence, or failure to examine the site.
Bids shall be submitted on the bid form provided in the specifications, at the date and time specified. The complete bid form shall be submitted without alterations, additions or erasures. Envelopes containing bids must be sealed and marked "Bid Enclosed, New Baxter Elementary" with the name and address of the bidder, and the date and hour of the opening. Bids shall be delivered to:

For Electronic access to the bidding documents, please contact the Construction Manager (320) 309-9227. The Construction Manager can also provide locations of Builders Exchange's holding plans for contractors to access. Bidders are responsible for all costs associated with the production of plans and specifications for their use.
Each bid of $10,000 or greater shall be accompanied by a bid bond, or certified or cashier's check in the amount of at least five (5%) percent of the bid amount made payable to Brainerd Public Schools - ISD #181 as bid security that, if the bid is accepted, the contractor will execute the contract and file the required performance and payment bonds within the allotted time period after notice of award of contract.
The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts of bids and waive any formalities or irregularities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening without consent of the Board of Education.
