St. Andrew's Catholic Church Blessing and Dedication set

On Saturday, June 22, St. Andrew's Catholic Church will celebrate the blessing of its renovated church as well as its social hall and facade.

Bishop Paul Sirba will preside over the celebrations during the 4:30 p.m. Mass. An open house and reception will follow.

During the summer of 2017, St. Andrew's launched a capital campaign to raise funds for renovations and improvements to the building, which was constructed as a multi-purpose facility in 1965. Ground was broken for the renovation on Sept. 30, 2018. Renovations were substantially completed in time to celebrate Holy Week and Easter.

The adjoined gym and cafeteria spaces, which had served as church and social hall since 1965, have now been renovated for dedicated service as a church. The renewed church space has been enclosed, made handicap accessible, and embellished with flooring, mosaic art, decorative woodwork and lighting.

A 2.5-ton granite altar has also been refurbished and placed as a focal point of the sanctuary. Between the church and office wings, a social hall has been constructed, opening onto an outdoor courtyard. Facing west, a new entrance and facade has been constructed, easing access from the parking lot and marking the building visually as a church.

The $2,000,000 in renovations also included replacement of the boilers, air conditioning and ventilation system and the budget provides for rebuilding and reclaiming of the main parking lot, to be completed this summer.

Questions about the project may be directed to Father Daniel Weiske, pastor, at or 218-454-2929.
