The author stated "Love on the Misty Isles" is a story about how people can come together as one, regardless of their differences and diverse backgrounds; in other words, there can be unity in diversity. As one reader notes, "It is a novel of three love stories that show us what life is all about. It is about family, friends, loyalty, birth, death, forgiveness and finding purpose for our lives."

Greves was born and raised in Canada and lived for two years on Haida Gwaii before eventually moving to the United States. Her experience living on the islands and as a professor of education at the University of North Dakota bring authenticity and complexity to the novel, the release stated. Greves, a Florida resident, lives in Pequot Lakes during the summer.

The book, in print and e-book formats, is available at most online retailers in the U.S. and Canada, and locally at Turtle Town Books and Gifts in Nisswa, Encompassing Beauty in Crosslake and Timeless Appeal in Pequot Lakes.
