Crime writer to visit Brainerd library

Author Frank Weber will appear virtually Monday, Jan. 4, for the Brainerd Public Library’s Brown Bag Lunch author visits.

Weber will present from noon to 1 p.m. as a live event on the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library Facebook page at facebook.com/Friendsofthebrainerdpubliclibrary .

Weber will discuss his latest crime novel, “Lying Close.” It is a novel about a hunting accident, a rural home break-in and the disappearance of a teen all occur in a 30-mile stretch of rural Minnesota. Investigator Jon Frederick realizes they are all symptoms of a larger problem. “Lying Close” is a thrilling mystery with a forbidden love affair, it stated in a news release.

Weber is a forensic psychologist specializing in homicide, sexual assault and domestic abuse cases. He uses his unique understanding of how predators think, knowledge of victim trauma and expert testimony in writing his true crime thrillers. He has profiled cold case homicides and narrated an investigative show on Oxygen. His award-winning books include “Murder Book” in 2017; “The I-94 Murders” in 2018; and “Last Call” in 2019.
