The Brainerd Dispatch presents Film Forum, a web series for those who enjoy the dark, air-conditioned and mosquito-free confines of a movie theater as well as the lakes, streams and woods of the Midwest.

Join Dispatch staff writers Spenser Bickett and Zach Kayser as they debate and discuss current and older films and industry trends.

In the latest episode, Spenser and Zach talk about the newest entry into the "Rocky" film franchise, "Creed," starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. Spenser fills Zach in on how the new film fits into the series and how a fresh take brings new life to the franchise.

Zach Kayser is a man who enjoys a good actioner, period piece, or the occasional black and white classic. His first R-rated film was experienced when he was 9 years old; 2000's "The Patriot," which featured a memorable decapitation by cannonball. He dislikes product placement in film, but likes obscure nerd reference placement.

Spenser Bickett fights the social stigma associated with solo trips to the cinema by taking frequent solitary sojourns to the theater. Action, comedy, documentary, drama, romantic comedy or animated, it doesn't matter-he'll see them all. He tells people his favorite film is "The Social Network," but if he's being honest with himself, it's actually "Fast 5."
