Kick Off Summer Bash at Green Lantern

The Green Lantern will host its Kick Off Summer Bash Saturday outdoors with live music featuring three bands to include national recording country artist Katie Armiger and a barbecue competition and a chicken and rib feast.

The Green Lantern will host its Kick Off Summer Bash Saturday outdoors with live music featuring three bands to include national recording country artist Katie Armiger and a barbecue competition and a chicken and rib feast.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and the music begins at 5 p.m. with October Son kicking off the performances and the barbecue competition. Copperhead Creek of Minneapolis will perform at 7 p.m. and Katie Armiger will perform at 9 p.m. Following Armiger's show, attendees may gather around a bonfire or head inside to listen more to October Son.

Armiger made history by becoming the "Longest Charting" and "Most Charted" independent female country artist in history. Her most recent album, "Fall Into Me," debuting at No. 6 on the Independent Albums chart, No. 7 on Billboard Country Albums chart, No. 32 on Billboard 200 chart and has sold more than 85,000 copies since its release.

Armiger has received national recognition including OK! Magazine's "Next Big Deal" in July of 2013, in Seventeen Magazine's "The Hottest Country Singers," in June of 2013 and had a featured National TV Performance on ABC's "Bachelor Pad" season 3, CNN Headline News and Fox & Friends. Each of her last four videos have reached the No.1 spot on GAC's "Top 20 Countdown."

Green Lantern owners Carl and Dee Larson approached Carolyn and Erik Huff of Huff Entertainment with the idea of adding more live music and to host a Kick Off Summer Bash. Concert goers can bring their lawn chair and enjoy the music.

"The setting is just so perfect for the local community to come out, relax and visit with friends," said Carolyn Huff, co-owner of Huff Entertainment Solutions and the partner and promoter of Kick Off Summer Bash.

Advance music and barbecue tickets are $15 each or $10 for music only tickets. At the door, tickets are $20 for music and barbecue and $15 for music only. Advance Tickets are available for sale at the Green Lantern and online at www.huff-entertainment.com .
