Lady Long Rider Bernice Ende pauses Tuesday, June 4, after spending the night at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds with her the Norweigian Fjord horses. Ende has ridden over 30,000 miles on horseback throughout the United States and Canada. For the past 13 years, Ende has lived outdoors during her long rides. She holds the honor of being the only person to ride round trip from one coast of the United States and back. I was raised on a farm in western Minnesota where I participated in 4-H, high school sports, and everything that farm kids do for fun after chores. Graduated from Ridgewater Community College with an AA degree and my first taste of newspapering. I worked a summer on the Ortonville Independent as a reporter and photographer.
