Editor and publisher to speak

Deborah Jacobs will discuss and share from her new quarterly literary anthology, “Stone Gathering: a Reader” at noon Monday, March 2, at the Brainerd Public Library.

Film festival

The Wild and Scenic Film Festival, a collection of films which speak to environmental concerns and celebrations of the planet, runs from 2-5 p.m. March 21 at Tornstrom Auditorium. Tickets are available at the arboretum, 14250 Conservation Drive, Baxter. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Children 10 and younger are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.

HACKENSACK

Deep Portage Learning Center is hosting a dinner and music event at 5:30 p.m. March 14 at the center, 10 miles east of Hackensack, off Cass County Highway 46. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature The Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers. Cost is $20 per person. For tickets and to make reservations call 218-682-2325 or email portage@uslink.net.
