Explore Music!


Lakes Area Music Festival opens registration for Explore Music!, a day camp for students entering first through fifth grade, 9 a.m. to noon July 29-Aug. 2, Washington Educational Services Building. Register at or sign up through Brainerd Community Education.


Strings camp

Two-day music festival

Josh Duffee and his big band to perform at a two-day music festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, at the Hackensack Community Building. The First Ladies of Song also will perform. Park fest, car show

The Merrifield Lions Park-Fest and Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at the Merrifield Lions Park on Crow Wing County Highway 3. The Car Show will be on the baseball field of the park and registration of $10 begins at 8:30 a.m.



Annual gala

The Gull Chain of Lakes Association’s gala and fundraiser, July 21, Grand View Lodge, with social hour and silent auction at 5 p.m., and dinner and entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase for $50, which includes dinner and entertainment by going to or contacting Rosemary Goff at .
