First-time director M. Hollis Ford said he was blessed to have “a slew of talented local actors — young and young at heart” — turn out for auditions for Stage North Theatre Co.’s production of “A Christmas Story.”

The plot revolves around 9-year-old Ralphie wanting a Red Ryder Lever Action BB gun for Christmas. In his mind, with a Red Ryder in hand, Ralphie becomes the “hero’s hero, defeating dangerous desperadoes and upholding the law of the land.”
