First Lutheran Church news

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate the Fifth Sunday of Easter at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 2.

The message will be by Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton. Holy Communion will be served.

The in-person worship service will be broadcast to the church parking lot, YouTube and online. For more information, visit flcbrainerd.com .

For those planning to attend worship in the parking lot, the church parking lot extends from the north side of Anderson Cleaners to Maple Street and from South Eighth Street to The Office Shop. Tune the radio to 97.7 FM.

Lutheran Church of the Cross services

Sunday, May 2, is the Blessing of the Plants and Seeds (Rogate Sunday) at 9 a.m.

Pastor Jerry Raedeke will officiate at this service, but guest preacher Pastor Daren Blanck, Lutheran pastor and former LCC member will preach a sermon called "The Reconciliation of All Creation."

Following the service, stay for a forum presented by Daren Blanck on "The Hidden Environmental and Societal Costs of Fossil Fuels." Blanck will discuss the eco-justice impacts and why getting on board matters from a Biblical perspective.

In-person worship services are 9 a.m. Sundays and 6:20 p.m. Wednesday. Services may be viewed via streaming video on lccnisswa.org (live and archived) and live on the Lutheran Church of the Cross-Nisswa Facebook page. Bulletins for all services may be downloaded from the website.

This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled three worship services for this week.

On Wednesday, April 28, there will be a worship evening service at 6 p.m. with pastoral intern Matthew Engum preaching. Holy Communion will be served.

On Sunday, May 2, there will be a worship service at 9 a.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching and Holy Communion will be served. This service is live on KVBR 1340 Radio and livestreamed on YouTube.

Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

Intern Matthew Engum will be hosting a book study on “The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis. The class will meet in the Choir Room at 10 a.m.

“Drive Up Blessing and Holy Communion” will be available in the parking lot at door 2 from 10:15-10:45 a.m.

Masks are required as to state regulations along with social distancing. Enter at door 2.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church events

On Sunday, May 2, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate the fifth Sunday of Easter with a drive-in service with communion at 8:45 a.m. Pastor Mark Skinner will be preaching. Arrive early, stay in the car and park in the designated lot.

Sunday School will meet in-person on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced.

In-person worship services will be 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced. Space is limited. The 10:30 a.m. services will be livestreamed on Sundays at www.facebook.com/bethlehem.brainerd . The service will be put on www.belcnet.net after its completion for later viewing.

First Congregational United Church of Christ study groups to begin

Two new study groups will begin at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church’s annual meeting set for June 6

BAXTER — Lord of Life Lutheran Church will have its annual meeting June 6.

This meeting provides the congregation with a look at the work Lord of Life has done, the church’s budget and allows them to vote on issues.

In late May, a packet of information about the annual meeting, such as the agenda and reports from ministries, will be available at www.lolbaxter.org . Staff will be contacting groups this week to ask for these reports.
