This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, will have two indoor worship services at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, and at 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.

Holy Communion will be served at both services. The Sunday services are broadcast live on KVBR 1340 and livestreamed on YouTube at 9 a.m. and posted on Facebook and on the Trinity website. The Education Hour will be 9:45 a.m. There will be no Coffee Hour.

Confirmation students will meet at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, in the Fellowship Hall.

South Long Lake Church to host Christmas Story told by kids

The Christmas Story told by the kids at South Long Lake Church, 13152 Smart Road, Brainerd, will be 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20.

First Lutheran Church news

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will have worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, in the church parking lot which extends from the north side of Anderson Cleaners to Maple Street and from South Eighth Street to The Office Shop.

Sunday is the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

Pastor Patty Bjorklund, recently ordained and called to serve at First Lutheran Church, will deliver her first sermon to the congregation Sunday.

Those planning to attend the parking lot worship service should enter via South Eighth Street and follow the directions of the parking attendants. People with taller vehicles are asked to park in the back rows. Tune the radio dial to 97.7FM to hear and participate in the worship service.

The 9:30 a.m. worship service may also be viewed by Zoom, YouTube and online at .

Sunday School (via Zoom) will follow at 11 a.m.


Bethlehem Lutheran Church events

On Sunday, Dec. 20, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave., Brainerd, will celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent with a drive-in service with communion at 8:45 a.m. Pastor Sarah Marshall will be preaching. Arrive early, stay in the car and park in the designated lot.

All in-person services have been suspended due to the increase in case numbers. We will continue to livestream the 10:30 a.m. services on . The service will be put on after its completion for later viewing.

On Christmas Eve, a communion service will be livestreamed at 3 p.m. Drive-in services with communion will be offered at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church activities

BAXTER — A Virtual Service of Grief and Hope at Lord of Life Lutheran Church will be 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21.

2020 has been a year of exceptional darkness, grief and loss. Dec. 21 is the longest night of the year — a night wrapped in darkness that seems to not want to let us go.

On this long night, those interested are invited to and connect through virtual worship.
