Bethlehem Lutheran Church events

At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent with a drive-in service.

Pastor Mark Skinner will be preaching. Arrive early, stay in the car and park in the designated lot.

All in-person services have been suspended due to the increase in case numbers. We will continue to livestream the 10:30 a.m. services on Sundays at . The service will be on after its completion for later viewing.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church news

For the next four Sundays of Advent during Kids Time Online, “Ms. Val” Rangen will be sharing a short message with the kids of Lord of Life.

She’ll be focusing on the Nativity scene and talking about all the different characters and the true meaning of Christmas.

First Lutheran Church news

On Sunday, Dec. 13, First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will have worship service at 9:30 a.m. in the church parking lot which extends from the north side of Anderson Cleaners to Maple Street and from South Eighth Street to The Office Shop.

Sunday is the third Sunday of Advent. Pastor Loren Anderson-Bauer, Intentional Interim, will deliver the message.

Sunday will be Pastor Loren’s final Sunday at First Lutheran Church. In appreciation for his service over the last 14 months, the congregation is having a card shower in his honor. Cards for Pastor Loren Anderson-Bauer may be mailed to the church or placed in the offering net following the worship service on Sunday.

Those planning to attend should enter the parking lot via South Eighth Street and follow the directions of the parking attendants. People with taller vehicles are asked to park in the back rows. Tune your radio dial to 97.7FM.

This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, will have two indoor worship services at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.


Holy Communion will be served at both services. The Sunday services are broadcast live on KVBR 1340 and livestreamed on YouTube at 9 a.m. and posted on Facebook and on the Trinity website. The Education hour will be held at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Coffee Hour.

At 6 p.m. Sunday in the church parking lot, the Education Department will present “Little Bethlehem,” a live Nativity. The program will feature Christmas songs, readings and refreshments along with a live Nativity including live animals. The service will be on 97.1 in the parking lot only. It is open to the public.

Faith Baptist Church events

Faith Baptist Church will have a service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13. The kids’ program will be “The Good News Flash.”

There will be a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 24.

Virtual retreat planned

LITTLE FALLS — The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls is planning a virtual retreat “Stepping into the Unknown: Biblical Women Who Lived in Challenging Times” Jan. 25-29.


Sister Carol M. Perry, a member of the Sisters of St. Ursula, will lead the five-day retreat.

There will be two conferences each day: 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Friday: 9:30 a.m, only. Conferences will be available on Zoom and YouTube.
