This week at Trinity
Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled three worship services for this week.
On Wednesday, Jan. 5, there will be a worship service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching with Holy Communion being served. An evening meal featuring baked ham with cheesy potatoes will be served at 5 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
The First Communion class will meet at 5:15 p.m. The sixth through eighth grade class will meet at 6:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
On Sunday, Jan. 9, there will be two worship services at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. with Holy Communion being served at both services. Pastor Hans Anderson will be preaching “Jesus, Exceptionally Real.” The 8:15 a.m. service will be rebroadcast on KVBR 1340 Radio at 9 a.m. and livestreamed on You Tube.
The Altar Guild will meet 9 a.m. Thursday.

First Lutheran Church news
First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate Christmas 3 with a 9 a.m. worship in the sanctuary and online on Sunday, Jan. 9. Pastor Patty Bjorklund will preach. Pastor Jordan Gades will preside.
Masks are required.

Lord of Life hosting monthly Pray and Ponder sessions for women
BAXTER — Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter is bringing back an opportunity for women to enjoy fellowship and discussion on faith.
Once a month on Saturdays, a Pray and Ponder session will be at Lord of Life. The group will meet at 9 a.m. for breakfast and conversation revolving around videos from Rob Bell’s Nooma series.
Meetings will be Jan. 8, Feb. 5, March 5, April 2 and May 7.

St. Francis Church to host Festival of Carols
St. Francis Catholic Church, 404 N. Ninth St., Brainerd, will host “Festival of Carols” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, as part of the church’s 150th anniversary yearlong celebration.
The “Festival of Carols” brings us together to celebrate the birth of Christ with Scripture readings, song and prayer lead by Father Matt Miller and Liturgical Music Director Kathy Binsfeld. The St. Francis Church event features performances by a four part choir and instrumentals with songs including “Ava Maria,” “Oh, Holy Night,” and “Silent Night.” The event includes a 6 p.m. social hour with small bites and beverages in the church’s gathering space. The regularly scheduled evening Mass begins at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Ralph Berry to speak at South Long Lake Church
Ralph Berry will be speaking at South Long Lake Church, 13152 Smart Road, Brainerd, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9.
The service will be followed by coffee fellowship time and streaming live on Facebook.
First Congregational United Church of Christ to host the Rev. Darrell Pedersen
First Congregational United Church of Christ, 415 Juniper St., Brainerd, will have guest speaker the Rev. Darrell Pedersen at the 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, worship service.

On Sunday, Jan. 9, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord with communion at in-person services at 8:20 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Pastor Mark Skinner will be preaching.
