Thanksgiving at Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter
BAXTER — Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter will have a Thanksgiving Eve service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24.
During the service there will be time for giving prayers of Thanksgiving, music and Bible readings about what we should be thankful for. The readings for the day are: Joel 2: 21-27, Psalm 126, 1 Timothy 2: 1-7, and Matthew 6: 25-33. To give volunteers a week off from preparing a meal, there will not be a Wednesday night meal prior to the Thanksgiving service. Confirmation and other youth programming are also canceled for the evening.
Lord of Life is also participating in a Thanksgiving Food Drive with Bridges of Hope to get a Thanksgiving meal to people in need. For those who wish to donate $40-$50 worth of ingredients, call Nancy Swenson at 651-246-1474 to get the name and contact info for a family.
Due to COVID-19, volunteers and recipients are coordinating drop off times between themselves.
