Free community breakfast planned

MOTLEY — There will be a free community breakfast 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Motley United Methodist Church, 847 Third Ave. S., Motley.

This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled three worship services for this week.

On Wednesday, Nov. 24, Trinity will join Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service at 6:20 p.m. The service will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with pie and coffee following the service. Pastor Mark Skinner will be preaching.

There will be no Wednesday Evening meal at Trinity.

On Sunday, Nov. 28, there will be two worship services at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Guest Pastor Drew Bakken will be preaching at both services with Holy Communion. The Sunday service will be broadcast at 9 a.m. on KVBR 1340 Radio and the 8:15 a.m. service is livestreamed. Sermons are posted on Facebook.


The biannual business meeting will follow the first service at 9:15 a.m. with President Andrew Larson presiding.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church news

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate Thanksgiving Eve with a communion service at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24. Pastor Mark Skinner will preach. There will be pie after the service.

On Sunday, they will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent with in-person services at 8:20 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The 10:30 a.m. service will also be livestreamed on the Facebook page at bethlehem.brainerd and can be found at www.belcnet.net for later viewing.

Men's Bible study will take place at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30. The 70s-plus Lunch Bunch will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Bethlehem. RSVP by Monday at noon for those who want to attend.

First Lutheran Church news

On Sunday, Nov. 28, First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate The First Sunday of Advent with a Praise and Worship service at 9 a.m. in the Sanctuary and online. Pastor Jordan Gades will preach. Pastor Patty Bjorklund will preside. Masks are required.

The 9 a.m. worship service will be broadcast on YouTube and Facebook. For more information, visit flcbrainerd.com . There will be coffee fellowship from 10-11 a.m. in Koinonia Hall.

Soup supper will be served at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 1 in Koinonia Hall. The Wednesday Advent Service will be 6 p.m. Dec. 1.


Lord of Life to extend Christmas decoration sale

BAXTER — Following a great turnout on Nov. 20, Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter is extending its used Christmas decoration sale to this Saturday, Nov. 27.

Members of the Lord of Life community donated gently used decorations, which people can get in exchange for a free will offering. All proceeds will benefit teens from Lord of Life headed to the ELCA National Youth Gathering in July 2022.

The sale will be from 9 a.m. to noon.
