This week at South Long Lake Church

South Long Lake Church will host Peggy Holtz as speaker at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, followed by coffee fellowship and treats from 10:30-11 a.m.

Living Savior Lutheran Church rummage sale planned

LAKE SHORE — Living Savior Lutheran Church, 9327 Interlachen Road, Lake Shore, is having a rummage sale 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3.

Proceeds from the sale will be going to local food shelves and Outreach of Brainerd Lakes Area (formerly Kids Against Hunger).

Grace United Methodist Church to present music of Homeland

PEQUOT LAKES — Grace United Methodist Church, 29318 Patriot Avenue, Pequot Lakes, will present the music of Homeland by Randy Vader and Jay Rouse at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 11.


Join us in remembrance of the attack on our homeland 20 years ago and in celebration of our great nation.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church to host Rally Day picnic

BAXTER — To recognize its annual Rally Day and to celebrate 30 years of ministry, Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter will be hosting a picnic Sept. 12.

Following a worship service at 10 a.m., instead of Lord of Life’s normal 9 a.m. worship time on Sundays, people are invited to gather for food and fun.

Hot dogs and brats will be served, along with drinks and chips. There will also be fun activities for the whole family.

During the service, people who have volunteered throughout Lord of Life and the Brainerd-Baxter community will be recognized. Those gathering for worship will also be challenged to complete 31 hours of volunteer work before Lord of Life’s 31st Rally Sunday in 2022.

First Lutheran Church news

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will celebrate the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost with worship in the sanctuary and online at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 5.

Holy Communion will be served. Pastor Patty Bjorklund will preach and preside.


Due to the latest significant outbreak of the COVID-19 delta variant in Crow Wing County, and out of care and concern for children and the medically vulnerable, the church council has voted to return to requiring the wearing of face coverings during indoor worship in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings at all times.

This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled two worship services for this week.

On Wednesday, Sept. 1, there will be an indoor worship evening service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching. Holy Communion will be served.

On Sunday, Sept. 5, there will be an indoor worship service at 9 a.m. with Pastor Paul Erdal preaching and Holy Communion will be served. This service is live on KVBR 1340 Radio and livestreamed.
