We all race to get to our retirement. The sound of not hearing the alarm go off, waking up and enjoying a cup of coffee, and watching the sun come up is a common theme in retirement. Yes, many dream of this day but now retirement is here, something is missing. Retirement is not feeling like it should feel. What happened? Planning for a meaningful and purposeful life did not happen.

So how did this happen? In early to mid-adulthood, conversations happen frequently about planning a career path, family life, and saving for retirement. So why should this stop once retirement is here? This is where life continues, not stops.

Aging Mastery Program (AMP), led by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), is a guide to help design the next stage of life beyond just saving for retirement. Leading meaningful, purposeful lives throughout the life span is important. The Aging Mastery Program covers core curriculum and six key dimensions such as: Legacy & Purpose, Gratitude & Mindfulness, Health & Well-Being, Finances & Future Planning, Connections & Community, Creativity & Learning to empowering lifestyle changes to embrace the gift of time.

This program will empower you to make and maintain small but impactful changes. All participants will be given an Aging Mastery Playbook that covers the six dimensions of aging well as well as activities and resources. During our sessions, we have invited experts in our community to cover each topic. You will make connections with your ‘classmates’. Our hope is that we can inspire you to overcome any hurdles that might prevent you from changing the things that are in your power to change, and to make positive changes in your life. We want to encourage you to chart your own path for aging well. After all, it’s your life!
