This week at Trinity

This Sunday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, Pastor Dave Holte will be preaching his fourth sermon on the topic, "What Does Pastor Dave Really Believe?"

This is a series of five sermons on this theme that lead up to his retirement Aug. 26. There is one service at 9 a.m.

There will be a special music presentation prior to the service at 8:45 a.m. which features a classic clarinet duet selection, "Shepherd of the Rock," performed by Jodi Dahl, Ellen Holte and Ashly Sands.

A coffee hour will follow the service honoring Jim and Pat Anderson who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Wednesday night services are 6 p.m. This is a short and informal 30-minute service with Holy Communion being served.

Rummage sale planned at Our Saviors

PEQUOT LAKES—Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes is hosting a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 17.

Freewill proceeds go to Current for Curran, a solar project, and the Adult and Teen Challenge.

Fraser Family to be in concert

The Fraser Family will be in concert 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at South Long Lake Church, 13152 Smart Road, Brainerd.

Malmo Evangelical Free Church to host nationally performing artists

MALMO—Malmo Evangelical Free Church will host nationally touring band The Hainings 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

From their musical beginnings at a local jam in northwest Minnesota, Americana band The Hainings was formed in 2004. This unique acoustic ensemble has entertained at festivals, theaters, house concerts, and more, including multiple invitations to perform at the theme park, Silver Dollar City.

Bring a lawn chair to enjoy Malmo Church's 24th year of music in the out of doors for this casual event. In case of rain or excessive heat, the concert will be inside the air-conditioned church. Refreshments will be available and a free will offering will be received.

First Lutheran Church events planned

Handbells will practice after services on Sunday, Aug.12, and at 8 a.m. Aug. 19, to prepare for playing during the 9 a.m. service Aug. 19.

The God Give Us Life service will be 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, where Donn Peterson will give the message.

Vacation Bible school planned at Park United

All area youths are invited to vacation Bible school from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 20-21 concluded by a family carnival on Aug. 22 at Park United Methodist Church.

Evenings will begin with a bite to eat.
