Brainerd Lakes Area National Day of Prayer to air on the radio

The Brainerd Lakes Area National Day of Prayer will air from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, on 104.3 The Pulse and 91.5 and 102.7 The Word.

The theme will be Habakkuk 2:14: “For the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the water covers the sea.”

There will be two-minute prayers for churches, families, businesses, the military and media along with music to praise and honor the glory of God.

This week at Trinity

On Sunday, May 3, Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, will be having its first drive-up worship service at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot.

Also, the service will be broadcast live on KVBR 1340. Holy Communion will be available to members and guests as they worship in their cars so as to practice safe social distancing. Pastor Hans Anderson will be speaking on “The Gospel Sings This Spring!” and Pastor Paul Erdal will be assisting. Noisy Can Offering will be taken to help the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen and Operation Sandwich.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church services livestreamed

Bethlehem Lutheran Church has canceled all services with the exception of a weekly livestreamed service at 10:30 a.m. Sundays.

Pastor Mark Skinner will host Fireside Evening Devotions at 6:20 p.m. Wednesdays.

First Lutheran Church events

Due to COVID-19 and the stay-at-home order by Gov. Tim Walz, First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will not be gathering for worship Sunday, May 3, or Wednesday.

The First Lutheran Membership and Outreach team is assisting the director of Community Services of Crow Wing County in gathering gently used books, games and puzzles.

For those wishing to donate any of the above-mentioned items, bring them to First Lutheran Church, enter through the doors on the north side of the church (alley door) and leave donated items in the boxes provided in the entryway.

Financial contributions, in support of the work and ministry of First Lutheran Church, can be dropped off during office hours or mailed to the church at the above address.
