Holy Week at Prince of Peace

BAXTER — The Holy Week schedule for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6311 Mildred Road, Baxter, will be as follows:

  • April 1, 6:45 p.m., Maundy Thursday, “Privileged Communication;”

  • April 2, 6:45 p.m., Good Friday, “The Defense Rests;”

  • April 4, 6:30 a.m., Easter Vigil, “Habeas Corpus – “You Shall Have the Body;”

  • April 4, 9 a.m., Easter Morning, “The Case of the Missing Defense Counselor.”

Plan on attending to hear Pastor Gregg Coop bring forward Biblical insights and relevant guidance for observing Holy Week and celebrating the joy that Easter brings.

Lutheran Church of the Cross Holy Week events

NISSWA — Lutheran Church of the Cross, 5064 County Road 13, Nisswa, will have a Maundy Thursday worship service with First Communion in the Celebration Center.

The Good Friday Tenebrae worship service will be 6:20 p.m. April 2 in the Celebration Center.

First Lutheran Church news

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will have in-person worship (by reservation only) at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 4.

The service will also be broadcast to the church parking lot, YouTube and online.

All seats in the sanctuary for in-person Easter worship have been reserved. Reservations are still available for additional seating in Koinonia Hall. To reserve a place, call the church office at 218-829-9552.

For those planning to attend the 9:30 a.m. parking lot service, the church parking lot extends from the north side of Anderson Cleaners to Maple Street and from South Eighth Street to The Office Shop. Tune the radio to 97.7 FM.

There will be no April 7 service.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church to host in-person Holy Week services

BAXTER — Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 6190 Fairview Road, Baxter, will be hosting in-person services, along with livestreamed ones, for Holy Week this year.

On Maundy Thursday, there will be in-person services at noon and 7 p.m. The noon service will be livestreamed and the recording will be available at any point for people to watch.

Good Friday will also have services at noon and 7 p.m., with the noon service livestreamed. There is no communion on Good Friday.

On Easter Sunday, services will be at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with the 8:30 a.m. service being livestreamed. In order to safely accommodate in-person worship, Lord of Life asks anyone looking to come to the church for Easter services, preregister at lolbaxter.org.

The church has determined 120 people can be in the sanctuary and commons for the service. If the service someone planned to attend is full, Lord of Life encourages them to check the other time or worship with them from home.

Lord of Life’s livestreamed services can be accessed from its Youtube channel, LordofLifeBaxter or from its website and Facebook page.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church events

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 Eighth Ave. NE, Brainerd, will celebrate Easter with an in-person service with communion at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 4, with Pastor Mark Skinner preaching. Masks will be worn. Social distancing will be practiced. Space is limited, so preregister at www.belcnet.net or by calling the office at 218-829-3330.

There will also be a drive-in service with communion at 9:15 a.m. Sunday morning. Arrive early, stay in the car and park in the designated lot.

The Easter service will be livestreamed at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. This service will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/bethlehem.brainerd. The service will be on www.belcnet.net after its completion for later viewing.

This week at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled several services in observance of Holy Week.

On Maundy Thursday, April 1, the 7 p.m. service will celebrate the First Communion for fifth graders with Pastor Paul Erdal preaching.

On Good Friday there will be two services with a traditional worship service at 2 p.m. followed by a Tenebrae Service of Lessons, Reading and Music at 8 p.m.

On Holy Saturday there will be a community Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. in the church parking Lot. At 5 p.m. there will be a contemporary Easter eve service featuring the Trinity AWE team. No reservations required at this service.

There will be three Easter worship services on Sunday beginning at 7 a.m. with the Easter sunrise service beginning in the Scattering Gardens and processing into the church and this will be followed by two traditional Easter worship services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Pastor Hans Anderson will be preaching and Holy Communion served. The Sunday Easter Service will be on KVBR at 9 a.m. and services are livestreamed on YouTube.

Bethel Lutheran Church services

Bethel Lutheran will have in-person worship on Good Friday, April 2, beginning at 7 p.m. Pastor Jeff Macejkovic will lead the service. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed and masks will be required as well as social distancing and hand sanitizing.

Easter Sunday services will be at 9 a.m. and Ruth Jeremiason-Jensen will deliver the message. Again, COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Those wishing to worship from home will be able to view virtually or by phone.

South Long Lake Church to have Easter service

South Long Lake Church will have an Easter service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 4.

Pastor Mark Bosserman will be the speaker.
