Lord of Life Lutheran Church to host serveCAMP

BAXTER — Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter invites youths who will be going into fifth through eighth grade this year to the 2021 serveCAMP which will run Aug. 1-5 in partnership with Camp Onomia.

This camp experience blends all the elements of a day camp with service projects throughout the community. There will also be evening games, campfires and optional tenting in Lord of Life’s backyard.

First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St., Brainerd, will have an outdoor parking lot worship service led by the praise band at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 25.

Worship will be officiated by Pastor Patty Bjorklund who will preach on the theme “Living Water.”

The Fun, Food and Fellowship Neighborhood Event will follow worship with live music, a free lunch, a visit from the Brainerd Fire Department fire engine and firefighters. There will be parking lot bingo with door prizes, water-themed kids’ games and craft activities. Event will wrap up by 11:30 a.m.

On July 30, game night will be 6-9 p.m. in Koinonia Hall. The activity is for people of all ages. Bring a friend, a favorite card or board game and a dish or appetizer to share.

First Congregational United Church of Christ worship service set

Sunday worship service at First Congregational United Church of Christ will be in-person and online at 10 a.m. at 415 Juniper St., Brainerd.

The congregation is supporting the local food shelf and Habitat for Humanity Faith

Gospel concerts set at Malmo Free Church and Glen Community Church

MALMO — The Malmo Free Church will present Niah and Allisha Merrill in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 24.

The Merrills are a duo with a traveling music ministry. Together, they have had the opportunity to minister all across the United States as well as Italy, Nepal and Israel.

They sing and play an assortment of instruments (including the piano, trumpets, flugelhorn, hand drums, and Irish penny whistles) in a variety of inspirational musical styles.

Bring a lawn chair to enjoy music in the outdoors. In case of rain, the concert will be inside the air-conditioned church.

The Merrills will also be in concert at Glen Community Church at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 25.

Rhubarb Fest 2021 planned in Pine River

PINE RIVER — Rhubarb Fest at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pine River will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24.

There will be fresh rhubarb pies for sale as well as rhubarb leaf bird baths and stepping stones. There will be craft items, baked goods, quilts, fresh produce and canned jams and jellies.

There will be a large rummage sale. A light lunch of pulled pork, coleslaw and rhubarb beans will be served.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 1420 S. Sixth St., Brainerd, has scheduled two worship services for this week.

On Wednesday, July 21, there will be an indoor worship evening service at 6 p.m. with Pastoral Intern Matthew Engum preaching. Holy Communion will be served.

On Sunday, July 25, there will be an indoor worship service wrapping up the VBS Week at 9 a.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching and Holy Communion will be served. This service is live on KVBR 1340 Radio and livestreamed.
