NORTHFIELD - A head-on collision involving a semitrailer truck left one motorist dead and another seriously injured just west of Northfield, Minn., on Friday afternoon.
Dick H. Morgan, 87, of Northfield was killed when his westbound Ford F-150 pickup truck collided with an eastbound semi on two-lane Minnesota 19 at Decker Avenue.
Morgan's passenger, Joann C. Morgan, 81, of Northfield, was seriously injured in the 2:39 p.m. collision, which closed Highway 19 for several hours.
The driver of the semi, David S. Thompson, 35, of Farmington suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
