HILLMAN-A 14-year-old boy was killed Saturday when the dirt bike he was driving struck the back of a tractor on 173rd Street, east of 350th Avenue, west of Hillman in Leigh Township.
The Morrison County Sheriff's Office responded to the fatality at 4:19 p.m. and identified the victim as Damian Hebler of Hillman. Hebler was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor, Kylee Hoheisel, 23, Hillman, was not injured.
The sheriff's office stated there was a helmet located near Hebler's body and authorities believe he was wearing his helmet but are still investigating whether it came off as a result of the crash.
The boy's body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for an autopsy.
The sheriff's office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Pierz Fire Department, Hillman Area Response Team and Gold Cross Ambulance.
