FERGUS FALLS - Fergus Falls police on Tuesday arrested a 14-year-old boy from Fergus Falls in the armed robbery of a Shopko store.
Fergus Falls Police Sgt. Connor West said a person showed a knife and demanded money from a Shopko cashier about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Because several officers and Otter Tail County deputies happened to be nearby on a different call, they were able to canvas the area and find him a block away just six minutes later.
"It was great teamwork between the law enforcement officers and the general public in giving us the information so we could follow up and locate him a timely manner," West said.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
