2 injured in Highway 34 crash

The injuries were not life-threatening.

Two drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a collision at 3:42 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, when a 2005 GMC Sierra crossed the center line and struck a 2020 Kia Telluride.

According to a report filed by the Minnesota State Patrol, the Sierra operated by Tyler Jordan Kamrath, 22, of Nevis was traveling west on Highway 34 near Nevis when it crossed the center line and struck the Telluride operated by Christina Lourraine Mountjoy, 36, of Park Rapids. First responders attended the scene, whereupon Kamrath was transported to Essentia-Health Fargo and Mountjoy was transported to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.

The Hubbard Sheriff’s Office, Nevis Fire Department, North Memorial Health Ambulance service and Nevis first responders assisted at the scene.
