Drive-through, touch free Halloween event planned
BAXTER — Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6311 Mildred Road, Baxter, will host a drive-through, touch-free Halloween event from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. The event will feature candy stations, providing sweet treats to children in safe, drive-through style.
The Outreach Board at Prince of Peace noted that each driver will receive a single plastic bag for candy as they enter the church’s parking lot, with all candy going into the driver’s bag. After driving through, the driver can distribute the candy, as appropriate, to the children in attendance. This will help keep the event moving efficiently and keep it touch-free.

Trick or treating planned at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center
CROSBY — All tiny goblins, superheroes and ghouls are invited to trick or treat along the spooktacular candy trail up to the main entrance of the care center at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.
This is a fun and COVID-19 safe way for children ages 10 and younger to wear their favorite costume and have a fun-filled Halloween adventure. Youngsters should maintain proper social distancing as they roam the care center’s outdoor grounds in collecting their loot.
Residents will stay inside their rooms while stations more than 6 feet apart will be set up outside of their windows for self-serve, pre-packaged candy. Children will be able to trick-or-treat outside of each resident’s room and greet them through their festively decorated windows.
The care center is also seeking candy and monetary donations to help support the event as COVID-19 has not allowed residents to have their usual fundraisers. Generally, more than 500 youths trick or treat at the center and thousands of pieces of candy are distributed.
