Three people were arrested and charged with the theft of two motor vehicles and burglary for allegedly stealing two vehicles from Farm Island Township, the Aitkin County sheriff said in a release.
Jefferey Lynn Bourcy, 37, of Brook Park; Edward Glan Garman, 48, of Nashwauk; and Rebecca Lee Warmbo, 41, of Brook Park were all arrested Wednesday afternoon after a homeowner reported that someone broke into his garage and stole his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
A short time later, a Minnesota State Trooper observed a Harley Davidson traveling southbound on Highway 169 over the speed limit. When they attempted to stop it, the driver, Bourcy, then fled southbound-reaching speeds of 90 mph. Bourcy then jumped off of the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot, the release said. He was subdued after police tasered him, the release said.
Officers then encountered Warmbo in a white Trans Am in a parking lot near the Highway 18 and 169 junction. She was arrested without incident on outstanding warrants. The Trans Am was subsequently reported stolen from another Farm Island Township resident. Located in the Trans Am was rifle ammunition and 42 grams of methamphetamine.
Garman was arrested in a U-Haul truck after being spotted in Garrison by a Crow Wing County deputy. He was arrested without incident. Also assisting the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office was the Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department.
