Three people were arrested Wednesday morning for distribution of drugs after law enforcement officers executed search warrants at residences on the 700 and 800 block of Fir Street in Brainerd, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Lt. Joe Meyer said.
The arrests are a result of an ongoing investigation by the the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division. LADID and the Crow Wing County Tactical Team executed the search warrants at the two homes, located within a block of each other. Meyer said the two cases are related.
Brainerd police officers assisted in securing the neighborhood and North Memorial Ambulance also staged at the scene.
Some neighbors expressed concerned as they saw tactical team members and LADID agents surround the two homes. Law enforcement addressed the neighbors' concerns after one neighbor wondered what was going on as she saw officers brandishing guns. The neighbors were assured that the neighborhood was safe and the incident was under control.
Further information about the arrests was unavailable Wednesday morning.
