Three Brainerd lakes area ladies will represent Minnesota July 30 through Aug. 4 in Las Vegas for the 2016 Miss United States Pageant.
Lydia Benson, 15, the 2016 Miss Jr Teen Minnesota and the daughter of Steve and Elizabeth Benson, will compete in the Jr Teen division. Kylie Christenson, 13, the 2016 Miss Pre Teen Minnesota and the daughter of Bethany and Trent Christenson, will compete in the Pre Teen division. Gabriella Miller, 10, the 2016 Little Miss Minnesota and the daughter of Terina Miller and David Braverman, will compete in the Little Miss division.
There will be 385 ladies competing in the pageant at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.The females are from 50 states and from American Samoa, Guam, North Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands will compete in seven divisions, Little Miss, Pre Teen, Jr Teen, Teen, Miss, Ms and Ms Woman.
Miss United States recently returned from Washington, D.C., to its original home of Las Vegas. Vicki Randall and Bill Musel, Minnesota state co-directors reported this year will include the "first ever" Supermodels Unlimited Magazine Runway Competition, with a contestant from each division, competing to win a full-page feature in the "Rising Star" issue of Supermodels Unlimited Magazine.
