STAPLES - More than $31,000 was raised through the Jump Rope for Heart program for the American Heart Association due to fundraising efforts of local elementary and middle schoolers, as well as sponsorships by various organizations, including Lakewood Health System.
Participating schools and the amounts raised include:
Browerville - $5,964.78.
Eagle Valley - $2,815.62.
Motley Elementary - $1,266.

Pillager - $14,316.71.
Staples Elementary and Sacred Heart - $6,007.
The combined total raised by the schools was $28,182.36, which with the sponsorship by Lakewood, came to $31,182.36.
