A 31-year-old St. Louis Park man faces felony charges after allegedly assaulting a woman in Nisswa.
Andrew Everett Borders was charged March 20 in Crow Wing County District Court in Brainerd with two felony counts of stalking and making violent threats against a woman with whom he was acquainted.
According to the probable cause court document filed against Borders, Crow Wing County sheriff’s deputies were called at 9:45 p.m. March 19 to a physical domestic dispute at a residence on Crescent Drive in Nisswa. The victim reported she was physically assaulted by Borders. The woman was observed with dried blood on her forehead and a quarter-sized bump on her forehead. Her jeans were dirty from the knees down with water and mud.
The complaint stated Borders and the woman had an argument. When the woman offered to give Borders a ride, he allegedly grabbed her by her hair, face and neck area and drug her from the residence. Borders punched the victim one time in the forehead while he dragged her from the residence to the van, she told police. Borders then took her keys and cellphone and told her he was going to drive.
The woman attempted to run from the vehicle, but Borders caught her and dragged her back to the vehicle by her hair. She stated Borders made comments to the effect of, “The harder you try to get away, the slower and more painful your death is going to be.” Borders forced her back into the vehicle and as he walked around the vehicle for the second time, she escaped through the back seat sliding door and ran to the closest residence for help.

The woman told police she was terrified about what Borders would do to her.
According to court documents, the woman had an emergency order for protection against Borders and he allegedly violated it in December 2019. In February of this year a temporary order for protection was dismissed when they both failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing.
Borders’ next court hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. April 10.
