A 33-year-old Brainerd man is facing felony domestic assault charges after allegedly assaulting a woman at a north Brainerd residence, court records stated.
Jason Jeffrey Owen Krueger made his first appearance May 27 in Crow Wing County District Court and was charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic assault. Krueger appeared Tuesday for a court hearing and an omnibus hearing was scheduled June 29.
According to the probable cause court document, Brainerd police officers were dispatched at 2:07 p.m., May 26, to a report of a physical domestic assault on North Fifth Street in Brainerd.
When police arrived, Krueger said he and the female had argued, but he denied any physical assault, according to the criminal complaint filed in the case.

The female said Krueger grabbed her, tossed her around in the kitchen area, throwing her up against one of the walls and caused injury to her right ear at one point in the assault, the complaint stated. The female also reported Krueger threw her onto the floor several times, and believes an injury to her right shoulder occurred from that. She then reported the defendant grabbed hold of her neck with both of his hands and squeezed her neck more than one time.
