BUCKMAN-A 60-year-old Pierz woman was injured Friday in a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus on Nature Road, west of Little Rock, Buckman Township.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office reports the woman, Jane Gerwing, was traveling west at 7:29 a.m. on Nature Road, attempting to pass a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old. While attempting to pass this vehicle, she noticed the Royalton school bus, driven by Susan Oelrich, 70, Royalton, which was stopped in front of the vehicle she was attempting to pass.

Gerwing collided with the vehicle she was attempting to pass, which then collided with the school bus, the sheriff's office reported. The school bus was displaying flashing caution lights at the time of the incident.

Gerwing was transported by private vehicle with unknown injuries. Oelrich, the minor and passengers were not injured.

The crash is still being investigated by the sheriff's office with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Pierz Fire Department, Morrill-Lakin-Mount Morris-Buckman First Response Team, Minnesota State Patrol and Gold Cross Ambulance assisted the sheriff's office at the scene.
