Scouts hosting adult pinewood derby fundraiser

Boy Scouts of America Central Minnesota Council is hosting an adult pinewood derby fundraiser to support scouting in the lakes area from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 11 at Roundhouse Brewery in Brainerd.

"For many Scouts their favorite memory as a Cub Scout is the pinewood derby. Partnering with an adult and sharing their vision for what their car should look like. Then going on to cut, paint and build the car to match their vision," Boy Scouts of America Central Minnesota Council officials stated in a news release. "The car project is more than just a car and it's more than just a race to see who can build the fastest car. The memories they create as they build the car are lifelong and incredible."

The event is sponsored by Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Jim's Electric and Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union.

The race is open to the public and anyone is welcome to build a car and race.

Go to https://scoutingevent.com/296-brainerdderby to register and get more information on the event.

The cost to enter the race is $50 and includes a car kit as well as food at the event.
