Staples-Motley grad to talk about Peace Corps at Cultural Thursday

Staples-Motley High School graduate Abby Edin will be the featured speaker at the next Cultural Thursday event at Central Lakes College.

Edin will talk about her time volunteering for the Peace Corps teaching English in Colombia. She will share what she experienced while immersed in Colombian culture and how her time on the Caribbean coast influenced her future travels and career plans.

Edin graduated from Staples-Motley in 2010 and went on to study Spanish education and teaching English as a second language at Bethel University in St. Paul. She has since taught in Long Prairie and substituted in the Staples-Motley School District. She now teaches Spanish language and culture in Little Falls.

The event is at noon Thursday, Dec. 6, in the Chalberg Theatre on CLC's Brainerd campus.
