STAPLES -- “Role of Religion in our Nation’s Founding” will be discussed by Janet Beihoffer Aug. 20 at the Timbers Event Center in Staples.

The event is sponsored by Crossroads Conservatives. Dinner orders will be taken at 5 p.m. and the program is expected to begin at 6:30 p.m.

After retiring from a career at IBM where she was a line-of-business marketing manager for five states, Beihoffer now is an adjunct professor at Metropolitan State University where she teaches Management Information Systems, a news release stated. Beihoffer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Miami University of Ohio, a master’s in business degree in accounting from the George Washington University and became a registered certified public accountant in Virginia. She writes periodically for “Intellectual Takeout.”

Beihoffer was elected to the Republican National Committee as the national committeewoman for Minnesota in 2012 and re-elected for a second term in 2016. She developed and implemented statewide poll challenging operations in 2005, became the statewide director of election operations for the Minnesota Republican Party from 2008-2012, and served as the chair of the Minnesota Second Congressional District from 2008-09.

Beihoffer was on the board of directors for the Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People from 1990-98 and the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church Board of Life and Growth from 1998-2004. She resides in Lakeville with her husband, Dale. They have four children and four grandchildren.
