The Echo Journal is accepting last-minute nominations for the 2019 Pequot Lakes-Breezy Point area Citizen of the Year award. Deadline to submit nominations is Friday, June 21.

Nominees can be full time or seasonal residents of the Pequot Lakes-Breezy Point area. They do not have to be chamber members or business owners. This award is open to all ages.

The nominee should be someone who deserves to be recognized for his or her contributions to the community in the past year.

To nominate someone, simply list his or her name, address and phone number, along with his or her community contributions and achievements, community volunteer work and any organization memberships.

Also include the name and phone number of the person submitting the nomination.

Email the nomination to or drop it off at the Echo Journal office in Pequot Lakes.

The winner will be honored at the Pequot Lakes Bean Hole Days picnic Tuesday evening, July 16, in Trailside Park.
