CROSSLAKE -- Heart and Soul 2019 will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Crosslake Lutheran Church, Crosslake.
Featured speaker for this women-only event will be cardiologist Dr. Eric Fenstad from the Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health.
He will present “Women are From Venus: Evaluations and Treatment of Cardiac Disease in Women.”
Fenstad is a graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine. He completed his residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Fenstad’s professional interests include pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, pericardial diseases, preventative and sports cardiology. He sees clinic patients in Baxter, Crosby and Aitkin as well as patients at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby and Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
The other speaker for the evening will be Gail Smith, registered nurse, who will speak about “Memory -- Why Can’t I Remember.”
She will cover how memories are formed and barriers to that process, including dementias. Smith works as the parish nurse at Crosslake Lutheran and also as a nurse at Minneapolis Heart Institute and Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
The evening is free and open to all area women with doors opening at 6 p.m.
