The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office is urging area hunters to keep watch for a woman who has been missing for nearly a week.

Michelle Mae, 35, of Outing, last had contact with her family Oct. 3. Mae is described as Caucasian with green eyes, dark-rimmed glasses and short, dark hair. She is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and has several tattoos on her forearms.

A hunter located Mae’s missing 2004 Jeep Liberty Oct. 4 in Aitkin County near Swatara, southwest of Hill City.

The sheriff’s office is asking hunters in the area to watch for any signs of Mae. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 218-927-2138 or dial 911.

The sheriff’s office is being assisted in its investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
