BAXTER — Ten girls and women were crowned Friday, Nov. 29, in the 2020 Brainerd/Baxter and Central Lakes Pageant at The Journey North Community Church in Baxter.

Little Miss Brainerd/Baxter is Ellie Helmer, 8-year-old daughter of Aimee Tagtmeier.

Pre Teen Miss Brainerd/Baxter is Kennedy Christenson, 10-year-old daughter of Bethany Christenson and Trent Christenson. She also won the Active Wear, Evening Gown, Interview and Social Impact Statement with On Stage Question Awards.

Juliana Sustercich, 9-year-old daughter of David and Tiffany Sustercich was named Miss Congeniality for the Little Miss and Pre Teen Divisions.

Miss Jr Teen Brainerd/Baxter is Jenna Pavlacky, 13-year-old daughter of Amber Casper.

Miss Teen Brainerd/Baxter is Isabelle Prozinski, 17-year-old daughter of John and Maria Prozinski. She also captured the People’s Choice Award of the pageant.

First Runner Up to Miss Teen Brainerd/Baxter was Deanna Root, 17-year-old daughter of Jim and Ann Marie Root.

Miss Brainerd/Baxter is Kaytlin Hart, 20-year-old daughter of Angela and Ryan Hart. She also won the overall Swimsuit, Evening Gown and Rhinestones Runway Show Awards.

Ms Brainerd/Baxter is Amber Casper.

Ms Woman Brainerd/Baxter is Michelle Kitchenhoff.

Mrs Brainerd/Baxter is Kathryn Jourdan. Kathryn is married to Samual Jourdan. She also won the overall Interview portion of the competition.

Miss Teen Central Lakes is AylaJean Madsen Root, the 19-year-old daughter of Jim and Ann Marie Root. AylaJean also won the overall Social Impact Statement with On Stage Question portion of the competition.

Mrs Central Lakes is Roseanna Roubinek. Roseanna is married to Michael Roubinek.

Miss Congeniality for all of the remaining divisions was Ann Marie Root.

This was the first year the pageant was at The Journey North. Directors Bill Musel and Vicki Randall were thrilled with the venue and hospitality given to them, their staff and contestants, according to the news release.

“They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed at their church,” stated Randall.

Also new this year was the contestants’ Social Impact Statement in which each contestant shared their platform work. The audience was given insight into the reasons each contestant chose their particular platform and what their goals would be if chosen to represent the area throughout the upcoming year.

Winning queens will go on to represent the area at the 2020 Minnesota United States Pageant planned for March 14, 2020, in Brainerd.
