A 58-year-old Wahkon woman was injured Thursday, Jan. 6, when her vehicle left the roadway on Highway 27 in Mille Lacs County.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash, reported at 10:09 p.m., in South Harbor Township, east of Onamia. According to the report, a 2016 Nissan Altima was westbound on the highway when it left the roadway to the right, striking a sign.
The driver of the Altima, Michelle Lynne Barnes, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia.
The state patrol reported Barnes wore a seat belt. The road was snow- and ice-covered at the time.
Assisting at the scene were the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, Onamia Fire, Onamia Police Department and the Isle Police Department.
