The Friends of the Brainerd Public Library will offer a modified in-person book sale beginning Tuesday, March 2.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last in-person book sale was fall 2019. A virtual version has taken place since, with customers ordering online and picking their books up.
With the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines, declining infection rates in the area and a strict following of safety practices, organizers believe an in-person sale is now possible.
The new modified sale will take place each Tuesday in March. Shoppers must register for a one-hour time slot by emailing email@example.com. Time slots begin at 9 a.m., with the last one of the day starting at 2 p.m. Shoppers should include in the email if they will be accompanied by a child and the child’s age. Shoppers should not show up more than 5 minutes before their appointed time.
Masks and gloves are mandatory for all shoppers. The Friends of the Brainerd Public Library are unable to accommodate shoppers who are unable to wear a mask due to medical conditions at this time, though the online sale is still available at http://bit.ly/3sBRY1W.
One child age 8 or older is allowed to accompany an adult, and children must also be registered as a shopper and follow mask and glove guidelines.
Children under 12 must remain with an adult while shopping. Those 12 and over may shop independently with an accompanying adult responsible for following safety guidelines.
