The Brainerd Fire Department responded to multiple calls this past week.

July 22

  • Firefighters responded 1:43 p.m. to a fire alarm on the 7900 block of Greenwood Road in Baxter, which was caused by water leaking onto the detector.

July 23

  • At 8:11 a.m. an oven fire was reported on the 20000 block of Dove Lane in Unorganized Territory. The fire caused minor smoke damage.

  • At 10:16 a.m. assisted Brainerd police with a possible crash with injuries on the 1400 block of South Sixth Street in Brainerd.

  • At 12:20 a.m. a fire alarm was reported on the 6100 block of Pine Beach Road in the Unorganized Territory. Firefighters investigated and found there were issues with the wiring on a water heater.

Saturday, July 24

  • Firefighters responded at 3:28 a.m. to a detached garage on fire on the 10000 block of Greenwood Street in Crow Wing Township, caused possibly by a lightning strike. There was moderate damage and no injuries.

  • At 8:26 a.m. a crash with possible injuries was reported at Riverside Drive in Brainerd.

  • A pole barn fire was reported at 7:49 p.m. on the 16000 block of North Nelson Road in Oak Lawn Township. Upon arrival, the hay had caught fire and firefighters extinguished it.

Sunday

  • A tractor fire was reported at 11:05 a.m. on Crow Wing County Highway 23 and County Road 23. Firefighters were canceled en route.

Monday

  • At 10:11 p.m. a fire alarm was reported on the 700 block of Todd Street. Firefighters investigated and found the fire alarm was not working correctly.

Tuesday

  • A fire alarm was reported at 6:35 a.m. on the 8100 block of Excelsior Road in Baxter, which turned out to be a maintenance issue.

  • Report at 7:25 a.m. of smoke on the 600 block of Southeast 19th Street in Brainerd. Smoke was found to be from a burned coffee pot.

  • At 11:54 p.m. a fire alarm was reported on the 700 block of Todd Street. Firefighters investigated and found the fire alarm was not working correctly.

  • A grass fire was reported at 2:33 p.m. on the 15000 block of Dellwood Drive in Baxter.

  • A possible injury crash was reported at 6:17 p.m. on Thiesse and Oakridge roads in Long Lake Township.
