MENAHGA -- A North Dakota man was injured Sunday, July 7, while skiing behind a boat on Spirit Lake in Menahga.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office responded to the skiing incident at 5:32 p.m. on the 300 block of Main Street Northwest in Menahga. When emergency crews arrived, it was learned Daniel Bloomquist, 57, of Williston, North Dakota, was skiing behind a boat operated by his daughter, 20-year-old Kayla Bloomquist, also of Williston, when he lost balance on the skis and injured himself. Daniel Bloomquist was transported to Tri-County Hospital in Menahga by ambulance and later airlifted to a Fargo hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Everyone involved was wearing their life vests at the time of the incident.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Menahga Police Department, Menahga First Responders, Tri-County Ambulance and Life Link III Air Care.
